The Paper Wasp {from her science reading}

Well....it makes its own paper to make its nest. In each cell they put an egg.

The Mongoose {reading Rikki-tikki-tavi with grandma Gail}

Some live in Egypt. They can kill snakes like in the book The Jungle book. I liked that wife snake was terrible, she was wickeder than her husband.

I am learning Psalm One, I will type it for you:

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,

Nor stand in the path of sinners,

Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

but his delight is in the law of the LORD,

and in his law he meditates day and night.

he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,

which yields its fruit in it season and its leaf does not wither;

and in whatever he does he prospers.

the wicked are not so but they are like chaff which the wind drives away.

Strawberry Delight

1 Angel food cake

8oz of cream cheese

1 can sweetened condensed milk

2 10 oz packages of frozen sweetened strawberries thawed

1 can spray whipped cream

1 pint strawberries

Tear cake into bite size pieces

Beat cream cheese and s.c. milk until smooth

Put half the cake pieces into a large glass bowl

Pour half the cream cheese mixture over top

Pour one bag of the strawberries over that

Put a thin layer of whipped cream over that

Repeat layers

Top off the whole thing with a thick layer of whipped cream

Garnish with fresh strawberries {cut the tops off I forgot to do that}

It was very good, I made it myself. You should try to make strawberry delight.

Shadoof

Definition: Device used to raise water from one level to another. Operated by hand, this device has a pole that looks like a seesaw. On one end of the pole is a bucket. On the other end is a weight. The Egyptians filled the bucket with water, then let go of the bucket. The weight on the other end would raise the bucket of water. Shadoof.

I like a shadoof because it is interesting it's very helpful.

I worked very hard on this map of Egypt. It is made of clay, we needed three cups of salt to make the clay. Can you see the Nile river?I liked the sculpting part. I had to draw the map out on the cardboard box before I put the clay down on the cardboard. {HaHA} My hands were VERY dirty. I liked that a lot. The dough felt sticky and sandy.

This is Lily's art. She made a whole bunch of little animals.
